Hello Couchster…ans? Couchsterites? Let’s go with Couchster fans I guess! We’ve had a few different things in the works all summer, and we’re close to rolling them out for you. So let’s start with good news!
First of all, Couchster will soon be introducing a new payments system that will let you save your credit card info for future use. No more typing all that nonsense in every time: just select your saved card, and click the confirmation button, and you’ll be good to go! This system will also do away with a long running point of confusion: Couchster’s $10 authorization bubble. About two or three times a week we get a call asking why you were charged $10 than checkout said (answer: you weren’t, that’s just a $10 bubble on the authorized amount to account for things like substitutions or special requests, and when the order is submitted, you’ll see it come back down to the expected figure). Our new system will get rid of that bubble; even better, when you go to your past orders, you’ll be able to see the exact breakdown on every order, including the exact cost at the restaurant, and any other fees. Easy as pie!
But wait, there’s more! Soon after our new payments system goes live, we will be introducing takeout orders at a number of our partner restaurants. With no delivery fee (and no limitation to Couchster’s delivery hours) you’ll be able to order takeout from a number of restaurants throughout the city with all the same ease you ordered delivery before. So that place a couple blocks away that never seemed to quite merit delivery, but that you still didn’t want to have to call and deal with all that hassle? Or maybe its mid-afternoon and you’re hungry, but we’re not delivering? Well, problem solved! Couchster will also be introducing a new dry cleaning and wash-dry-fold service in the Uptown and Garden District. All you’ll have to do is put whatever you want cleaned out in the morning, and we’ll have it back to you in a day or two all clean and folded for ya!
Now a bit of (temporary) bad news. You may have noticed that lunch has been closed a lot frequently, and there may unfortunately be some continued funkiness with some hours over the next week or two. Couchster is in the middle of a major transition in our dispatching system and dispatching staff, and while we hope to wrap up this process in the next week, it may drag out a touch longer. We hope you will forgive the occasional funkiness with our hours and understand they are a part of the introduction of the new services we have planned for you. One step back to take three steps forward.
You heard it right, Couchster is coming to Baton Rouge! We’ll be launching a new delivery service up in the LSU area starting next Monday, the 23rd. This service will start off as a dinner only service from 5 PM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday, but we will look to expand to a lunch service as well in the coming months. Some of the restaurants we will be offering for delivery include:
Hello SushiWalk-Ons
Fuzzy’s Tacos
Inga’s Subs
Fat Cow Burgers
Akasha Market
And more!
Is there a restaurant in the LSU area that you particularly want to be able to order from? Shoot an email over to soneill@couchster.com, and we’ll make sure it gets added ASAP for you!
We’re very excited to bring our delivery service up to Baton Rouge, so just remember, please, don’t get up!
It’s that time of year again, and Couchster has you covered for all your food needs. We will be remaining open for Thursday and Friday for our regular dinner service! However, we will be making a few changes in order to remain in service for the week. Our delivery area will be reduced to account for the parades: This means that any address below Jefferson Ave from Tchoupitoulas to St. Charles, and and any address below Napoleon Ave from St. Charles through S. Claiborne will be outside of our delivery area for the week, and any restaurant in those areas will not be available for delivery. Our minimum delivery fee will also be increasing to $7, although that fee will still cover any delivery up to 2 full miles in distance.
Please have a happy and safe Mardi Gras, and remember, if you’re hungry after a long night of parading and partying, please, don’t get up. We’ll bring you something tasty!
After a long summer of work, Couchster is back up and running! We are currently offering our delivery service in Uptown and the Garden District for dinner from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and will be reintroducing lunch service shortly. We hope you have all enjoyed your summer, and we’re looking forward to serving you all again.
With summer on the horizon, Couchster is rolling out a new set of hours starting tomorrow, Tuesday, May 6th. Our new hours are as follows:
Monday through Friday
Lunch: 11:00 AM through 2:30 PM
Dinner: 5:00 PM through 9:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday
Open 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
Thanks, and as always, please, don’t get up!
Do you like free stuff? I like free stuff. In fact, I think most people like free stuff. It would pretty weird if they didn’t. And free food…well, that’s pretty high on my list of favorite free stuff. With that in mind, Couchster has decided that its about time we started rewarding some of our loyal customers with something fun…like say, some free food.
So now you’re probably saying to yourself, “well, I’d like some of that free food. So how do I get it?” Simple! All you have to do is refer three (3) friends to Couchster, and once each of them has placed their first order we’ll give you a free meal (including free delivery) up to $20 from any restaurant that we deliver to you. There’s no limit to how many friends you can refer, so if you refer six and they all order…well, that’s two free meals. Refer thirty? That’s ten!
Now you might be saying, “well that’s easy…but how will you know I referred someone?”. Again, it’s easy! Just log into your Couchster account, and go to the my account section. You’ll notice a “User ID” right up top on the right hand side. Well, give that ID to your friends, and tell them to enter that ID into the referral field when they sign up. That way we’ll know it was you, and once your first three referred friends have placed an order with Couchster, you’ll have a free meal coming your way!
But wait, is that Billy Mays’ music I hear, because there’s more! We’ve got some great Couchster swag coming in, and we’re giving all yall a chance at getting some free of charge. Just tag us in a tweet (@Couchster) or in a Facebook post (CouchsterCo) and let us know your handle when you place your next order, and we’ll include a free piece of Couchster swag to you*.
Free food, free swag…it’s gonna be a wonderful spring!
*The swag isn’t due to arrive until next week, so you’ll have to wait until then to get it, but we’ll honor any tweets or FB mentions made before then.
Ever since we launched, we’ve heard the same thing from our customers, “when are you going to offer late night deliveries”? Well, now we’ve got an answer for that question…this week. Starting Thursday, we’ll be offering late night deliveries from 9 PM until midnight on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturday nights. When those late night cravings hit, we’ll have you covered! In the coming weeks, we’ll be continuing to add new late night offerings for you, so if there’s a late night option you really want to be able to order from on Couchster, let us know and we’ll do our best to get it added for you!
Well we’ve had our first taste of Mardi Gras, and it was pretty good! As expected however, pretty much the entire Uptown and Garden District neighborhoods became largely impassable to traffic, making deliveries an unusually dangerous proposition for our drivers. As such, we have made the decision that Couchster will be closing for the bulk of Mardi Gras. We will continue delivering on our normal schedule until 5 PM on Wednesday, at which time we will be closing. We will re-open the following Wednesday at 11 AM, and will follow our normal schedule from there on out.
Please have a safe and enjoyable Mardi Gras!
Due to the expected traffic conditions and road closures throughout Uptown and the Garden District with the parades this Friday (the 21st) and Saturday (the 22nd), Couchster will be closing at 4 PM on Friday and will remain closed until Sunday afternoon, when we will open for dinner at 5 PM. We will be posting our hours for next week, through Fat Tuesday, next Monday, so please check back in then!

But we’re not just expanding our hours, we’re also expanding our delivery area. Starting a week from Monday, we are proud to announce that we will be launching our delivery service in the Mid-City area! Our new Mid-City service will have the same hours and fees as our current services in Uptown and the Garden District, and we’ve got a lot of new restaurants that we’ll be adding to the site over the next week to give you even more options in that area. Have a restaurant in Mid-City you particularly want to be able to order from? Shoot us an email through our contact page, and we’ll get it added for you ASAP.
We hope you’re as excited as we are for these new services. And remember, please, don’t get up!
